Our Mission
While there is an overwhelming leftwing bias in the culture, and especially the media right now, it also seems clear that when the right tries to set up in this space they have a habit of becoming reactionary. Many conservative websites seem to believe the best way to fight the left-wing propaganda that is spewed by other ‘news sites’ is with right-wing propaganda that is every bit as shallow and sometimes just as dishonest. Conservative websites need to stop allowing the left to control the settings that we find ourselves debating over.
Our paper strives to move past being anti-left and begin to figure out what conservatism means at its core. Our hope is to shape the conservative movement for our generation through honest news reporting. Instead of reporting every bit of gossip and half-truths that we hear about the left, we want to report on the facts. Instead of building up straw man arguments from the left solely to be knocked down, we wish to find the most articulate and well-thought-out arguments from the left so we can challenge them head-on.
Above all, this publication hopes to grow the intellectual side of conservatism. We will never become an echo chamber that circulates the same old talking points during discussions. Writers will be allowed to push past partisan constraints. Writers will not be rewarded for articles that are popular but shallow or disingenuous, but for articles that force them to research a topic or that force the readers to delve deeper into what they believe.
